Important updates for 2026
- Embedded pediatric dental coverage is being removed from all on and off exchange medical plans. For off-exchange consumers, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires anyone up to age 19 to have coverage for pediatric dental services. We are informing members in their renewal packets that by renewing their medical plan they are agreeing to purchase pediatric dental separately for anyone up to age 19.
- All Ohio catastrophic plans are being discontinued for 2026. All members enrolled in Catastrophic Plans in 2025 were mailed an initial notification on October 2, 2025. The letter informs them that their Health Plan will be discontinued after December 31, 2025, and provides information on how to automatically enroll in a suggested Bronze plan, or when and how to select and enroll in any new medical plan we offer that they are eligible to enroll in, including information on a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).
- The extra help provided by the American Rescue Plan Act may stop on December 31, 2025. This means your client could pay more for their premium after that date. Anthem also offers other plan options that may be lower cost and work better for your client.
- Decreased timeframe to receive a $50 incentive for wellness exams from 180 days to 120 days starting with January 1 renewal dates.
- New out of pocket maximums for non-HSA plans is $10,600 individual/$21,200 family.

1 Nationally recommended preventive care services received in-network have no copay and no deductible requirement.
2 Virtual care visits, including medical chats and video visits using the Sydney Health app, are available at no added cost to members for most plans. Those enrolled in High-Deductible Health Plans associated with a Health Savings Account and Catastrophic plans must first meet their deductible. Virtual care visits refer to medical chats and/or video consultation, as deemed appropriate by a licensed physician. In addition to using a telehealth service, members can receive in-person or virtual care from their own doctor or another healthcare provider in their plan’s network. If members receive care from a doctor or healthcare provider not in their plan’s network, their share of the costs may be higher. Members may also receive a bill for any charges not covered by their health plan. Sydney Health is offered through an arrangement with Carelon Digital Platforms, a separate company offering mobile application services on behalf of your health plan.
