Starting with coverage effective January 1, 2027, Anthem is removing the payment page from Individual applications submitted through eSubmit (PDF) or on paper. Also, the Automatic Monthly Payment for Individual Plans form is being discontinued. These changes help protect your clients’ banking and credit card information.
All initial premium payments not submitted at time of enrollment, must now be made online. You can continue helping your clients submit their payments and set up automatic monthly payments.
How to help newly-enrolling members make their first payment
- Log in to Producer Toolbox.
- Select Book of Business > Applications.
- Filter by Missing Initial Payment to find your client’s Application ID.
- Go to anthem.com > Member Support > Make a Payment.
- Enter the required information to complete the payment or set up automatic monthly withdrawals.
You'll need the client's Application ID, the primary subscriber's last name, and either their date of birth or ZIP code.
Making payments for current Anthem members
For one-time payments, use Quick Pay. You'll need the subscriber's first and last name, date of birth, and Member ID.
To enroll in AutoPay or save a payment method for future use, clients must log in to anthem.com or they can use the Sydney® Health app. Remind clients to make their first payment promptly.
Coverage cannot begin until Anthem receives and processes the initial premium payment.
Encourage clients to pay as soon as they submit their application. If an application is otherwise complete but the first payment is missing, Anthem will use the application's submission timestamp to determine the policy's effective date.
